One Direction

  One direction is a British-Irish boy band  created in 2010 on the seventh season of The X Factor UK. Each member auditioned as a solo artist, each made it through to bootcamp but were eliminated on the second part of the auditions. The judges  decided that they were so talented that they couldn't let them walk away, so Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson were called back and told that they were given a second  chance. If they agreed, they would now be a part of a group act. The boys agreed. All five members of the band spent 2 weeks living together in order to know each other and make a bond. While they were together the brainstorming for the group name began. So they came up with "One Direction" because they were 5 boys walking in One direction towards their dream of becoming great artists. Through their time in the competition they gain many fans because of their talent and obviously by their cute look. They made it to the finals but finished in third place. 

 Even though they didn't won the competition they have succeeded. Now they have 4 albums: "Up All Night", ''Take Me Home", "Midnight Memories" and "Four" and have sold more than 3 millions of copies of their albums. They have won many awards, for example: Best International Pop Group, Best Boy Band, Favorite Album, Best Revelation etc. Their concerts are always completely full ( In Mexico they sold more than 50,000 tickets for only 1 concert). 

 As a musician I really admire this boys because they have shown me that there's nothing impossible. The music business isn't easy at all. You have to compromise many important things of life like expending time with your family just to go to a rehearsal or missing out of being with your friends in a weekend because you have a performance. But if you want to follow your dreams you'll have to sacrifice many things.  Many people thought that they were going to fail because they lost the competition but they have demonstrated that true talent and hard work is the only thing that  is needed to triumph.
